MY 2015 MOVIE ROUND-UP
(Yea, this movie is definitely on it!)
I had a couple picks for bad first like how Batsheba Everdene might have been the stupidest character it’s movie thought was smart, that Pan might have been the biggest what the hell movie (which really shouldn’t have been).
That Age of Ultron was the most disappointing but Pixels had to be the worst movie I saw this year…
And that I honestly think Monica Belluci in Spectre was the biggest waste of a character and actor. (Seriously, if the two actresses had just switched roles!) Second only to Pixels having a Sean Bean cameo and not having the alien video games kill him off.
Rant Over!
Now onto what I thought was great this year:
Funniest Movie I Saw This Year: Spy
I Enjoyed it & I Don’t Care if People Judge Me: Jupiter Ascending
Favorite Trailer- Suicide Squad Comic-Con Trailer (2016 Release) I went from worried but hopeful to, “Oh my God! I need this movie now excitement!”
Best Supporting Actress: The Wives from Mad Max (and yes, I know it’s cheating) they were just so good!
Best Supporting Actor: (tie) Donald Sutherland in Mockingjay Part 2 & Harrison Ford in The Force Awakens
I’ve honestly thought Ford’s been phoning it in for a while so it was nice to see him trying and Sutherland’s performance as Snow was probably the part of that movie that stayed with me most. (Besides the you know what…)
Favorite Part of 2015 at the Movies: This is the year that gave us characters like Furiosa, Rey and…
Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation…
In some of the biggest movies this year. I’m really hoping it’s the start of a larger trend.
Movie that was Most Inside My Head: (Upsettingly Enough) Pixar’s Inside Out
Characters I Most Want to Hang Out With: Finn, Rey and BB8 from The Force Awakens although Mark Watney from The Martian is definitely next on the list!
Best Director: I’ve got to go with George Miller from Fury Road on this one!
Best Actress: Charlize Theron edges out Daisy Ridley by a nose! I’m not a big fan of Theron but she brought Furiosa to life in Mad Max!
Best Actor: Matt Damon in The Martian
Damon’s another one whose not one of my favorites by a long shot, who happened to be playing one of my favorite book characters in years and he just nailed Watney in this one.
Favorite/ Best Movie: Perhaps not surprisingly that would be Mad Max Fury Road! Though it just edges out The Martian and The Force Awakens. It just had everything going and all the emotion. I’m so psyched it’s getting such award love!
And that is my little movie award round-up! I saw some real stinkers this year but I also saw some fantastic movies that I wasn’t expecting (Mad Max) and had some sky-high expectations (The Force Awakens) meet.
In 2016 my goal is to definitely branch out. I usually spend most of January catching up on all the “award” movies but hopefully this year I can keep going and catch some of the movies that I might not believe are my cup of tea!
