The Book Lovers Survival Tag

The Book Lovers Survival Tag

So I don’t often do tags but I saw this one on Youtube specifically Tashapolis’ Channel and I’m a sucker for the what would you take with you on a deserted island question so I jumped. The original tag was sponsored by Penguin Teen for A Map for Wrecked Girls. But I just liked the idea.

Chose 5-8 books you would need to survive on a deserted island:

My first thought was books about survival or living on a deserted island but where’s the fun in that? Second it was a toss-up between books that I love versus the books on my TBR that have been there the longest.

But they’ve been there the longest for a reason and I settled on the fact that I would want:

Comforting old friends.

Big & meaty books that I would have all the time to dig into deeply.

A Dance with Dragons

I could finally get all meta and then write endless fan fiction in the sand about Winds of Winter.

The Book Thief

Read it for the first time this year. Wondering what took me so long.

Strange the Dreamer

Not only is this a big meaty book that I loved thoughts of the sequel would give me the motivation I needed to stay strong and get off the island 🙂

The Stand

I went back and forth on this one because it might not be the best thing to take when you’re alone on a desert island. But I do want to reread this one and it would definitely keep me busy.

Star Wars Trilogy Novelization

This actually is one that I haven’t read but I know the movies backward and forward so I don’t really count it as a TBR. At least I’d have Luke, Leia and Han on the island with me.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I know. I know. But not only are they big books that I loved they’d remind me of happier times when I wasn’t trapped on a deserted island. Plus Harry and his friends always got out of their predicaments so why shouldn’t I?
