Owlcrate Nov. Castles, Courts & Kingdoms Unboxing

November Owlcrate

Another month another Owlcrate Box. This month’s theme was Castles, Courts & Kingdoms. For those of you who don’t know Owlcrate is a monthly book subscription  box around $35. They send a new released YA and a bunch of goodies that match the theme.

They also have a super adorable Middle-Grade box. Great Christmas gift ideas.

Owlcrate goodies

Expecto Patronum beanie! It’s exclusive to the box. I gave it to my nephew and he really liked it. Of course he mostly wore it over his face and pretended he was a ninja. And thought the lightening bolts were for the Flash. But it worked.

Juniper and Ivy Designs brooch is for the second Army. It’s actually pretty nice but just reminds me that I really have to finish the Shadow and Bone trilogy.

A Court of Mist and Fury notebook

The notebook might be my favorite item. Its an exclusive design by Stella’s Bookish Art. I really need the quote right now quite frankly though for some reason I thought it was from Mockingjay and it’s actually from A Court of Mist and Fury. It’s sturdy, the pages are lined and I’ll get a lot of use out of this one.

Note book and Geek Fire Labs gloss

My awesome photography skills aside the picture is technically supposed to be of the Geek Fire Labs Winter is Here lip gloss. I love their lip gloss. I swear it’s one of the reasons I let the box carry over this month. It’s blackberry and it smells and feels pretty good for winter months indeed.

Elvish soap

Fizzy Fairy Apothecary created this adorable Elven Bread soap. Seriously, I don’t want to use it. (But I have!) I thought it was food at first so luckily I read the card before eating it.

Lastly, the book of the month:

The Glass Spare

The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano

This is about a girl whose cursed to turn everyone she touches to gemstones. Owlcrate did another exclusive cover which is apparently raised and slightly colored. I don’t pay that much attention. The book actually sounds really interesting though. I read the prologue in kind of a what to read next mood and I definitely liked it.

the glass spare bookplate

The book came with a signed bookplate and some gemstone tattoos which will also probably go to my nephew.

December’s theme is:

Seize the Day

Seize the Day. On the one hand it’s a contemporary which are usually hit and miss with me. On the other I could use a pick me up and the artwork on the card is so cute! Plus Owlcrate provides Black Friday discount codes for subscribers so if there was any question I was going to let it roll-over that was decided!
