The Goosebumps Tag

The Goosebumps Tag

I wanted to do one more tag for the ghostly season because my brain is all over the place. Christmas decorations are coming out at the stores and brain is pretty much headed there. The end of the bloody year.

That’s a scary thing in and of itself right now 🙂

This tag was created on Youtube by Fiksidust.

Let’s take another journey into the mind of Terry Pratchett and the colorful fun Discworld! This time dealing with the serious topic (except its Discworld so don’t worry!) of Death.

Witches, Music & Pie: Graphic Novel Round-Up

chilling adventures of sabrina

I’ve been on a bit of a graphic novel/comics kick recently all over the board really. But I wound up reading Chilling Adventures of Sabrina- which I said I wasn’t going to do! Luckily I think it helped prepare me for the show…

It Follows Does the Deed

It Follows

Directed By: David Robert Mitchell

Grade: B+

So despite chickening out of Halloween (was there ever any doubt?) for some strange reason I was determined to watch a scary movie for October’s Blind Spot. It Follows seemed like a perfect one.

I mean after all its not some serial killer sneaking in and hacking you to death. Just don’t have sex with anyone whose seeing things that other people don’t and is possibly cursed. Which is a really good rule anyway.

All the Best Deaths

All the Best of the Deaths

Okay, this is a bit morbid perhaps but I was thinking of it in regards to Strange the Dreamer and we’re so close to Halloween so All the Best of the Deaths. By the way this isn’t a good or bad thing some of these absolutely devastated me but they were so well done!

Also there’s some pretty famous deaths in here but just in case spoilers for: The Book Thief, Crooked Kingdom, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mockingjay, Strange the Dreamer, & The Hate U Give.

Fierce Fairytales

By: Nikita Gill

Grade: A

I read Wild Embers by Nikita Gill earlier this year and immediately ordered Fierce Fairytales. The book is made up of poems, stories and illustrations “to stir your soul,” as the cover says! I seriously connected with the work so I guess you could say my soul was indeed stirred.

Some Kids are Scary

the fallen children

The Fallen Children

By: David Owen

Grade: B+

On night in London every single person in Midwich Tower falls into a deep sleep from which they cannot be woken. During that time four women (three of them high schoolers) are violated and quickly come to realize they are pregnant.

And when I say quickly I mean these pregnancies last for like two weeks so something is very, very wrong.

7 Films for Rainy Days

film recommendations for rainy days

I’ve been going through my DVD collection recently and found a couple old favorites that are good for Fall, for rainy days, generally any time.

They aren’t perfect films and some didn’t age as well as other perhaps but I enjoyed them, they always make me smile and are well worth catching if you haven’t seen them already!

Lovelorn Should Have Kept Them All

Broken Things

By: Lauren Oliver

Grade: D

A couple of years ago Brynn, Mia and Summer were obsessed with the tale of Lovelorn. A book with a Shadow creature that accepts sacrifices. A book with no ending. They were determined to write their own. They played at Lovelorn. And when Summer was killed in a sacrifice style way Brynn, Mia and local boy Owen were the main suspects.

Quite frankly I wish Lovelorn had really opened them up and swallowed them whole.

Movie Thoughts with Venom

venom

Screw the whole Inner Goddess thing. If there’s a voice in my head it would probably be Venom so below we work through some movie thoughts and questions with the alien  (that doesn’t want to be called a parasite!)

I also feel like I should say I have no knowledge of the comic book character.
