End of the Year Plans Tag!

the end of year reading tag

Okay, so technically it’s a little early for Christmas- though that and the end of the year are approaching at the speed of holiday shopping. So I thought I’d do the End of Year Tag originally created by Ariel Bisette  over on Youtube.

It’s technically for books but I’m a tag rule bender so I’m adding movies to…

A book I need to Finish by the End of the Year

the girl who couldn't read

I haven’t made it past chapter one and truth be told… I haven’t really wanted to try again. Then somewhat along the lines of the disastrous-

theft by finding

Drugs actually make for dreadfully boring journal entries. I never like to say DNF but this one is probably headed in that direction.

A transition book to ease you into the end of the year?

I’m going to have to go with a classic answer here in books and movies:

Harry Potter

I include the whole series but there’s something about them that just scream Christmas for me!

A new release I’m still waiting on:

arthur curry is pissed

That would be Aquaman of course.

Honestly, there’s a couple of big books coming out in January but nothing else I’ve been waiting on for the rest of 2018 so hopefully my wallet will get a book buying break.

One that could still be a favorite?

Hm…

skyward

I have high hopes for Skyward which is going to be my first Brandon Sanderson read. There’s also-

Dragonshadow

Dragonshadow- the sequel to Heartstone

A Pride and Prejudice retelling with dragons that I read and enjoyed earlier this year so hey- that’s also another book I’m looking forward to that’s still to come!

Have I started making plans for 2019?

Ah, the best laid plans and all that. Crazily enough yes I have though I’m trying to keep them vague for now and not get ahead of myself. I did go and buy a second planner solely for books, movies, shows and blogging (not that I use my planners now) so I’m prepared!

  1. I remember seeing heartstone around, and thinking it looked pretty good- nice to see a sequel on the way. I should get Heartstone while I’m thinking of it…

  2. I’m definitely going to be reading a HP book during Christmas! It’s something I always find myself doing. I’m quite excited for Aquaman too!

      1. That’s exactly what I did! My boyfriend had to drag my Kindle off me 😂😂😂. Hope you get through the day ok on not a lot of sleep! X

    1. HBO should make Heartstone a series after Thrones ends! They’ll need to do something with the dragons 🙂 I was going to say cast Jason as someone but now I’m thinking Tom Hardy would make a great dragon rider! Darn it now I’m not going to be able to get that out of my head!

  3. I recently just finished reading the sequel to You. I was planning on reading Picnic at Hanging Rock next, but I changed my mind LoL. Still deciding on what to read next was thinking maybe Ready Player One.

    1. I watched the first episode of Picnic at Hanging Rock but then meant to read the book 🙂 I should write these things down cause I forget! Ready Player One’s a good read to- especially if you’re busy. Enjoy whatever you decide!

      1. How was the Picnic at Hanging Rock series? I’m going to read the book eventually and then watch the series. I was so planning on read that book next and then I started and just wasn’t in the mood for it, LoL. Indecisive reader of the books, LoL. Then I saw how many pages Ready Player One was and I didn’t feel like that at the moment either, LoL. I decided on To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I’ve been reading a lot of thrillers lately with You and the sequel to You, so I thought I changed the genre of books for the moment. Read 10 pages so far, and it’s good so far. I can’t wait to watch the Netflix movie too afterwards.

      2. The Netflix movie was great fun! I loved Peter in that I’m hoping they get to make the other two books even though I’ve heard mixed things about them 🙂

      3. Cool! I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile and watch the movie so I just figured I start already reading it, LoL. I like that there are sequels to this book cause now I don’t have to decide on what to read next cause there’s a sequel, LoL.

  4. Oh hello there, Jason Momoa!
    …..

Okay, I easily get distracted 😉

‘Skyward’ is probably going to be my favourite read this year – I hope you enjoy it just as much!

And I agree on the Potters.. They are perfect Christmas books! I re-read them all again recently and will do so again in the future (without book 7 haha)

    1. I’m really enjoying Skyward. Almost to the end but that feeling of oh, no when I finish all I can do is wait so I better start taking my time is already starting to set in 🙂 I’ve always passed on Sanderson because his books are so darned large but I’ve speed through this one so fast I might have to give him another look!

  5. Oh I love planners… I have quite a few of them but usually just admire them than use them. 😂🙈

By the way anything Harry Potter related screams Christmas to me too! I’m already so psyched for Christmas lol. Just started listening to Christmas music.. 😊

    1. Me too! It’s kind of sad really all the half-filled planners that I have like did I give up on 2017? Do I not like the month of May? And Christmas music is awesome already started listening to it myself 🙂

  6. I think Skyward could very well be a new fave for me too! 🙂
Actual planners usually stress me out, so i try to not make plans in general, hehe 😀
