Happy New Years!

Happy New Years! 2019

I’ve never really been big on New Years. I’m going to see Aquaman again (yeah!) probably watch a movie tonight or keep watching Derry Girls (that show is hysterical!) I’ll save the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour show for tomorrow cause you got to start the New Year right 🙂

Then it’s time for 2019!

I hope everyone has a wonderful fun night & best wishes for the year ahead!

The Best Discworld Yet

Wyrd Sisters

By: Terry Pratchett

Grade: A+

“When you break the rules, break ’em good and hard.”

Welcome back Granny Weatherwax! The sixth book in the Discworld series brings in three great female characters, several Shakespeare illusions, playing with time and is all about the power of words and stories to shape and change our realities. All things that I love so I can safely say Wyrd Sisters is my favorite.

The Best Books of 2018

muse of nightmares

It’s time for the Best Books of 2018 meaning… My Favorite Read of the Year and a few special Book Awards. Not all of these were published in 2018 but it’s the year I read them so that’s what we’re going with! I’m not going to go into to much detail though I’ll link to reviews but needless to say I would recommend them all!

Most Disappointing Films of 2018

most disappointing reads

I wasn’t sure if I should call this My Worst Films of 2018 because I actually enjoyed some of them in a disaster can’t look away kind of way. Some might even be guilty pleasures. Disappointing Films? To be honest I kind of expected some of them to be bad.

The Bummer Films? The not Great films of 2018?

The top two aren’t just not great films but truly bad so maybe I should just do the list… (Some spoilers below!)

Wrapping Up Holiday Reading & Watching!

the spellman mortuary

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I thought I’d combine my December Blind Spot with my holiday reading and wrap it all up at once. I didn’t finish my Christmas reading list. But I still had some fun with it. And years ago I once promised myself I would never watch A Christmas story mainly because TBS was running it constantly at Christmas but hey, I enjoyed it anyway.

Merry Christmas!

holidays in the desert

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house the only creature stirring was the Bookworm and the dogs who waited until now to want out…

The stockings hung, the bookshelves dusted, she doesn’t really know this story and is wondering whether Krampus or Bird Box is a good Christmas Eve movie. Also she might need to look up what sugar plums actually are so let’s just say tucked into bed visions of Aquaman will likely dance in her head!

But the whole point is Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! And to everyone I wish you and yours the best 🙂

Who’s Been Naughty? Who’s Been Nice?

whose been naughty whose been nice

So I tried to narrow down the book, film and television characters who would make both Santa’s lists this year. I was going to do more than the year but that would have taken me forever! Let’s do Naughty first cause that’s always more fun…

Most Disappointing Reads of 2018

most disappointing reads

I was actually going to combine most disappointing reads and films. But turns out I could come up with a fair number of books.

I’m saying disappointing because that was the case with most of them. If you loved them more power to you. This is just my opinion.

My Favorite Spider-Man Yet!

the many spiderman characters

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Directed By: Peter Ramsey, Robert Persichetti Jr, Rodney Rothman

Grade: A

The first trailer I saw for Into the Spider-Verse I wasn’t interested in yet another Spider-Man movie but go figure- this one is probably my favorite of all of them. And I go all the way back to the first Tobey.
