Blind Spot Series 2019 Edition

blind spot series 2019

The Blind Spot series is a great excuse to watch some of the movies that I have perpetually put off for well, always. The series was originally started by Ryan at The Matinee and is also run by Sofia at Returning Videotapes

One thing I did learn last year was I can not stick to a “to be watched schedule” any better than a to be read…

So below is my list of the top movies I’d really like to watch. No pressure on myself to do a certain one a certain month. Hopefully that’s not against the rules! I’m also including the left overs from last years list after I changed it:

A Place in the Sun (1951)

Giant (1956)

Suspicion (1941)

Labryinth (1986)

The Maltese Falcon (1941)

Cinema Paradiso (1988)

Rush (2013)

Sabrina (1954)

Gigi (1958)

The Searchers (1956)

Double Indemnity (1944)

The Seven-Year Itch (1955)

How to Steal a Million (1966)

Young Adult (2011)

All about Eve (1951)

Under the Skin (2013)

9 to 5 (1980)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Call of the Wild (1935)

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? (1967)

The Little Mermaid (1989)

  1. Oh, I haven’t seen most of these movies. I love watching movies from 50’s and 60’s. I really enjoyed ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?’ – crossing my fingers you enjoy it as well. And good luck with your schedule. 🙂

  2. I don’t think i’ve ever seen any of these.
Maltese Falcon sounds familiar but i think we had the book at home, cuz i looked up pictures of the movie, and doesn’t ring a bell.
I’m not a big movie fan, but i tend to like the old ones 🙂

    1. Oh, there’s always Audrey movies 🙂 I just realized I forgot the link to the list! I watched a lot of her films growing up though and pretty much devoured any autobiography I could find!

  3. Oooh you have some really good ones, here. A Place in The Sun was one of my Blind Spots last year, it was very pretty. I need to see Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? (1967), too. 🙈

It’s been years and years since I’ve seen Giant, but the cast is out of this world. Suspicion has one of my all-time favourite Cary Grant performances, wrote a whole post on his character! Hope you enjoy it.

Also All About Eve, Double Indemnity, Sabrina… you’re in for a treat!

Thank you so much for participating, Gemma! 🤗

    1. I will definitely check out your post on Cary Grants character! I’m so looking forward to the whole project. I started reading a biography on Howard Hughes and now I so want to jump down the classic Hollywood rabbit hole again 🙂 Should be fun to see everyone’s posts!
