Calendar Girls July: Favorite Book OTP!

I’ve wanted to participate in Calendar Girls for a while now. It’s a monthly event run by Katie at Never Not Reading and Adrienne at Darque Dreamer Reads in which you post your favorite choice for the specific topic.

My problem is that I am so bad at picking just one anything when it comes to books! But I  narrowed it down for a Favorite Book OTP. Though I’m totally giving runners-up 🙂

Thankfully there’s graphics because I pretty much had to double check the spelling of calendar. It’s already been a long week!

So my runners-up (I’m keeping it to a top 3!):

Heathcliff and Catherine from Wuthering Heights

“He’s more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”

Teenage Me: Romeo and Juliet where idiots but these two are goals!

Ned and Catelyn from Game of Thrones

And then it was all ripped away 🙁

And my choice for the month my number one Bookish OTP just feels like summer and sunshine and light…

Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables

I read this for the first time last year not expecting to love it as much as I did. Except Gilbert- when it started I found him just as annoying as child Anne. I laughed when she broke a chalkboard over his head for making fun of her (I know, I know.) But the book covers more ground and years than I thought and Gilbert grew up into quite a respectable young man.

Also you could tell from pretty early on he adored her.

Both Anne’s sacrifice at the end and his act of friendship toward her in order to make her life easier at a hard point in it melted my cynical heart. It’s very, very, very rare in a series that a relationship is the deciding factor in my wanting to read more but Anne and Gilbert absolutely do.
