A Ramble Through Zombieland

Zombieland Double Tap

Zombieland Double Tap

Directed By: Ruben Fleischer

Watching anything about the zombie apocalypse or any really makes you think about the universal truths of life. Like I’d find a library and a stash of chocolate and wait for the end – which would come super quick for me despite the amount of zombie stuff I watch- I also realized another universal truth for me at least.

When eating popcorn one piece at least will always go down my shirt.

This time it wasn’t even me being careless like I squeezed the bag wrong or something and a piece just popped out and down my shirt. Like come on universe!

So ten years into the apocalypse and our favorite family of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock are living well in the White House even as the zombies are evolving.

Which this time of year fun zombie stuff always makes me think of The Walking Dead and 1. Miss Shane and Merle and 2. Wonder why those morons never have any fun. Especially Carol. Poor Carol. She’s just in the wrong zombie world.

Come to Zombieland… they have Woody and now free love pacifist hippies.

The story starts when Little Rock takes off with a boy who doesn’t fight or kill zombies and the gang takes off after her. Wichita and Columbus have relationship issues to deal, newcomer Madison’s been living alone in a freezer all these years so she’s kind of like an excited puppy with people and Tallahassee meets a new friend in Rosario Dawson.

It’s not the best smartest movie ever but Double Tap is a lot of fun. The cast is good together across the board. I’m sorry Madison made me laugh. Woody is always great and Wichita remains my zombie apocalypse fashion go to.

Also Double Tap does zombies the way I like them fast and deadly. Which I never knew was an unpopular opinion in some circles.

This one definitely has zombie gore (one scene especially had me cringing) but if you’re looking for a Halloween film that isn’t of the murdering variety and more of a laugh Double Tap is worth the go. If not its also a great future rental.
