The Top Creatures of 2019

 

My apologies if you have a particular love of like cats and don’t want them lumped in with CGI creatures- I do to. Or vice-versa. But I’m lumping them all together with the great performances by animals, CGI creatures of all sorts, and of course one very famous puppet.

If not for said puppet Dumbo might have been tops for cuteness.

The monsters from Godzilla King of Monsters- the movie was only okay but they had dramatic flair for sure.

He’ll definitely go down as one of Star Wars more iconic droids. Spoilers on him to come in a Mandalorian review.

We should all have thieving monkeys when necessary.

Alligators from Crawl

Okay honest confession I cannot tell the difference between alligators and crocodiles save I’m not getting near any of them ever so it doesn’t really matter. Still these were very tenacious beings.

Also props to the dog who was smart enough not to do anything stupid!

Chainsaw

I will always have a place in my heart for Chainsaw and hopefully he’s in the rest of the series more.

Drogon in Game of Thrones

Well on the one hand he did lay waste to King’s Landing and everything in it. On the other hand he lost his entirely family and didn’t manage to kill Jon. So it was a mixed bag for Drogon this year.

Seagulls in the Lighthouse

Well they were trolling Robert Pattinson. I wasn’t happy about one particular scene so all I’ll say about that is they got their’s back and then some.

Ah, if only. And if only they were nicer but still…

It went to disgusting new heights to beat Elle and company and once again underestimated human nature- which is why I totally think this thing is gonna be an alien.

Rocket Racoon in Endgame

He was always one of the best parts of Guardians but whoever would have thought he’d wind up an integral and heartfelt part of the Avengers?

Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian

Baby Yoda works as a character with a mysterious history and unknown future but he was also, for me at least, the buy in on a show in which the main character barely speaks and never shows his face.

I’m sure I missed some- seemed like a good year for ‘creatures’- but I didn’t get to see everything and these were the standouts for me!
