The face/hood was honestly giving me Daredevil vibes- which could be a good/okay/great thing depending on what season of Daredevil 🙂 Otherwise I’m fine with it. I’ve accepted Pattinson and I don’t care enough about what the suit looks like…
I had so many things I wanted to post/do/watch/ read but it’s been a bitch of a week in a bitch of a month. And I’m sick! I did manage to see Knives Out which was fine. I think I was a little too hyped for it maybe. All the actors were good but Marta was kind of a saintly bore. The rest of the family was funny enough though…
Probably seeing this so close to Birds of Prey makes me feel like Evans would have been a great Riddler. But successes aside the DCEU seems like too much of a mess again.
There’s some new pictures of Harley from Suicide Squad 2 also but I’m still bummed about Birds of Prey and generally uninterested in that movie anyway. So eh… I feel like I’m ending on a bummer.
Oh! We did get a look at some pics from the next season of Killing Eve mind you I thought season 2 was kind of bumpy. It wasn’t Westworld Season 2 levels of a mess but still hopefully it’s back to a better tighter story.
Oh well, here’s to a peaceful weekend for everyone!

Yeah, I don’t care for Pattinson. I don’t think he’s bad actor and I’m still looking forward to The Batman but he was never going to be the one to impress me.
I was happy to see Hopper is alive, but I hope the series has some other twists up their sleeves. This feels like a pretty big moment to reveal before everything else.
Birds of Prey was so much fun too. I don’t really have any interest in the Suicide Squad reboot/sequel/thing either.
Good point about the reveal but Harbour could barely contain himself back in July 😉 between that and filming leaks they probably figured let’s just tear off the band-aid!
Hopper’s alive, is he? They sure didn’t keep that a mystery for long. Then again, no one really ever dies off-screen in fiction.
I do think Knives Out was a marked improvement over The Last Jedi, but I also feel it speaks to Rian Johnson’s limitations as a storyteller. I will say it’s ambitious that he has managed to make films in various genres, but whenever he succeeds, it tends to be in spite of his style rather than because of it. With Knives Out, he just so happened to pick a genre that benefits from constant expectation subversions.
I was going to say he benefits from his own characters but even here when you get right down to it he was playing off archetypes and assembled a great cast. I read an interview with Ana de Armas where she admitted she was leery about taking the role because all it said was Latina, pretty to sum up the character in the script.
It will be interesting to see how the sequel comes together and whether or not this one was lightning in a bottle.

I'm feeling a bit meh about this Batman thing. I think Pattinson will be absolutely fine in the role but I'm so sick of watching Batman's origin story!
Zoe Kravitz is one of top girl crushes, can’t wait to see her as catwoman. I think there’ll be more people lining up for Zoe than there will be for Pattinson, but we’ll see. This is actually a really exciting cast, I’ll be looking forward to watching them all.
Zoe is a great choice for Catwoman. Her and Colin Farrell and Jeffrey Wright are probably my favs of that cast. Pattinson at least will keep it interesting as Batman 🙂
