The Snyder Cut Is Coming

Jason Momoa as Aquaman

So news broke yesterday that we are indeed going to see Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut next year on the new Warner Brothers/ HBO streaming service. Which to be honest while I’m not that excited about a new version of the movie this could mean huge things for streaming and Hollywood.

It is nice that Snyder, who stepped away due to tragedy, is going to get a chance to finish his flick and they are putting an estimate of between $10 and $20 million into this thing. It will be interesting to see what the driving force behind Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman actually wanted his Justice League to be!

That being said in all honesty I didn’t like the movies leading up to it either. (And character wise I absolutely consider myself a DC girl) so I just don’t expect that somehow we’re going to get a great film out of this- although I admit if he cuts that scene where the Flash falls into Wonder Woman’s boobs I will call it better than what we got.

But let’s see if he actually cuts it first.

I thought it could be interesting that Henry Cavill took part in the streaming announcement considering the endless behind the scenes Superman issues. Does this mean with the popularity of the Witcher Warner might be more open to bringing Cavill back for one more go?

I’m probably reading too much into the whole thing. Not much else to do right now anyway 🙂

But with streaming wars in full force I wonder what this may mean for future projects or if other creators might look at the chance to go back and revisit old stuff. Plus you got to expect something from Disney + at this point. Even in the shut down Netflix is putting out content like mad and the Snyder cut actually happening gives WB a nice meaty headline for a couple of days even if the cut is way off.

Disney doesn’t like to be down and due to the shut down and Doctor Strange being pushed back this years promised Marvel shows (Falcon and Winter Soldier and Wandavision) seem at least a bit up in the air. They aren’t going to want to stay down for long.

So as the streaming wars actually only continue to heat up it could only be better for consumers giving us even more content and in some cases giving the artists different options for how to show their content.

Anyway at least it will keep things interesting.

And fingers crossed that the Snyder cut actually surprises me!
