And Then There Were None
By: Agatha Christie
I read my very first Agatha Christie and me being me was actually surprised by how good it was!
Everyone: She’s the queen of mystery Gemma it says it on the book!
Gemma: Yeah but still that was like decades ago…
I mean one thing about modern mysteries is 8 times out of 10 I figure it out correctly before the book ends. This one I couldn’t so perhaps I’m giving it points for me being dense but no it’s a good one.
It’s about a group of people who are brought to and then stranded on a desert island and immediately start being killed. With no way off the island and seemingly no one else on the island and every suspect being picked off almost immediately it’s a classic whodunit? And I do think it worked in the end it wasn’t like I was left saying eh, no that doesn’t make sense.
My only issue with the book was some characters are better than others and for some reason I could not keep the two women straight name wise but still it was a good mystery and a nice fast read for a classic. I’ll definitely be reading some of her other books now.
Recommend: Yes.
