Mandalorian Season 2 Predication

The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are back this Friday! And I am ready for some Baby Yoda goodness. But I thought I’d do some predications on what I think is going to go down this season before the season starts and we see how wrong I am!

No spoilers for season 2! (But spoilers for season one below!)

We’re going to get a lot of Moff

Which is only a good thing and it seems like Giancarlo was very much a part of this season after setting out until the end of the last one. I think he’ll have prisoners, I think we’ll find out how he got the Dark Saber. His debut last year was fantastic and considering the actor if they follow through I think this could be one of the great Star Wars Villains.

The Ghost of Boba Fett will annoy me

Here’s to anger some people-

I cannot stand Boba Fett. Whenever they’ve talked about a Boba movie or show I honestly couldn’t be less interested and ever since episode 5 last year people have felt like it’s being teased.

So here’s what I think…

We’ll get the armor but it will be someone else in it. Much like anyone can be a Jedi anyone can be Boba in the Star Wars universe.

Helmet Ever Off? I say NOPE.

The helmet on or off thing is actually part of the rumors swirling around this season. I’m not sure what to think of them and I’m pretty much in the middle on the helmet thing. I think it only worked so well for me last season because Baby Yoda was the buy in. Granted I don’t think he needs to be running around with it off but, especially with the kid, if it’s never off that’s a little weird to me. Hell we could just see the back of his head and imply he keeps it off on the ship now.

Luke Appearance? No. Skywalker Name-Drop? Yes.

On the one hand I want The Mandalorian to stand on its own and have no connection but on the other if he’s looking for Jedi to find the child’s family it does seem strange if Luke never comes up.

So I’m thinking at the very end he hears about Luke and decides to go find him but then he’s intercepted so it doesn’t actually happen.

The Child Will Get a Name

I say it will be Frank.

No I just thought what if Din actually dies and the child takes his name? Eek. I mean it would work but it would make me way more sad than I want to be.

Which I don’t want to end this on that note. I’m hoping the rumors aren’t true in anyway and this season will be as much fun as the first. The previews aren’t giving away much but it looks like plenty of action and we all know the kid is adorable. I mean entertainment wise there’s been bright spots of 2020 and hopefully Baby Yoda will be among them 🙂
