Me: I really need to be reasonable next year with my book buying and maybe not pay so much attention to upcoming new releases.
Also Me: Oh my God! There are so many books!!!! Is doing four posts on this unreasonable?
Worry not!
I’m not going to do four posts or even talk to much about those auto-buy authors that have releases coming out…
The Project by Courtney Summers
Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas
Survive the Night by Riley Sager
Or how one of my auto-buy authors has a cool sounding new retelling out next summer…
If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy
The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa
Happens to be about bad boy fae Puck from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
And while I haven’t had much luck with Stephen King’s more recent releases his new one:
Later by Stephen King
Both looks and sounds really cool and a little old school!
Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
This one about an AI doll in a window watching the world go by sounds like it’s going to make me weep and like the chic from Toy Story 4 before she went all crazy 🙂
A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers
The amazing thoughtful Becky Chambers is also doing AI’s next year and I am here for it (or there for it) all things considered.
Which leads me to by far my most anticipated and dreaded book of the year:
Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells
Amazon is saying this is going to be the final Murderbot novel and I don’t even have the courage to go look and confirm that… I don’t want it to end!!!
Yeah and even with me being reasonable it only gets us into July so I’d expect a Part 2 before long 🙂 So many books next year!
I already feel that 2021 will be a great reading year! Can’t wait to read the next Murderbot book, and Concrete Rose is on the very top of my 2021 tbr. Also The Project sounds fascinating, after Sadie I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next.

If you haven’t read them already This is Not a Test and All the Rage by the author are two of my favs. Both pretty rough reads though so you really have to be in the mood.
I’ve already read two of these (The Project and The Iron Raven – both were amazing) and I’m excited about some others.
I actually have both as arcs but I’ve been putting them off good to know there great! I can’t wait to get to them!
If The Shoe Fits sounds so perfect!
Murphy’s stuff is a ton of fun!
2018 was a great reading year for me. 2019 was okay and this year I failed miserably until October so I have high hopes for 2021. At least I know where to come for recommendations!
I’m hoping 2021 will be filled with good books, all the films and most of all freedom for all of us! 🙂
There’s so many 2021 books I’m excited about, I totally feel this!
Man, I *really* need to catch up on Murderbot…
I can’t accept that this might be the last book :/
