This would be another universe from Margot Robbie’s Harley although there’s nothing really planned to say that Robbie’s going to keep playing her anyway. I personally think Gaga could be a good Poison Ivy and I’m sick and tired of the Joker but hey this sounds so wild that if it turns out to be true…
It’s either going to be genius or a trash fire but either way I’d watch it!
Plus I can easily see how they could say the musical parts were all in his head.

No confirmed date as of publishing this post but seriously there’s plenty of time to catch up on one of the most fun, entertaining and deep DC projects in recent memory, at least in this Harley/Ivy lovers opinion 🙂

I genuinely don’t know how to feel about the sequel idea. I feel like it makes no sense and perfect sense at the same time. Margot Robbie has played Harley Quinn for so long that the thought never crossed my mind that someone else might play her. Lady Gaga would make sense if they were going a musical route, but it’s still bizarre. My only question is could a musical Joker sequel earn the same kind of awards attention that the first movie did? Could Lady Gaga possibly earn a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Harley Quinn?
Good questions. I’d also really want to know whose going to write the music and score because that could make or break it. If they are bringing in Lady Gaga hopefully she’ll at least get a big say in it. Also like what are Todd Phillips inspirations for this?? I have never wanted to see a script so badly!
I do think it’s smart that he isn’t just making the same movie all over again.
First, ahhhhh! A new blog layout! It’s always fun to come to a favorite and familiar blog and see it’s (to be Doctor Who-y about it) been done up a bit (but, unlike the Second or Tenth Doctor’s reactions to the TARDIS, I really like it). How fun! Second, I’d not heard these rumors but now my mind, as it likes to do anyway, will be running wild and imaging how this would look.
Also, I’m with you on the Joker thing. I don’t think we need more of him. Jack Nicholson did it in ’89. Then Heath Ledger didn’t come around until ’08. Since then we had Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix and Barry Keoghan in ‘The Batman’ and Cameron Monaghan on ‘Gotham’ and on and on. Batman has so many fascinating villains, we can do with a little breather around the Clown Prince of Crime.
And yes, the Harley Quinn series is one of greatest comic book adaptations ever. It was responsible for my falling in love with the character and then buying (what some would argue as *too many*) comics. I’ve watched the series so many times and I love it. It has such a special place in my heart :).
I can’t fathom how this is going to look either! I think that’s why I’m so intrigued 🙂 This is one of those movie ideas though I could see either being an absolute disaster or utterly genius and I hope they do it!
