Germs, Television Wins & a lot of Books

august recap

I love getting to spend time with my nephew and since he started school I don’t see him as much but man every time I do I wind up sick. It’s as though sometimes when he’s hanging off me I can actually see the germs.

I think there’s something worse about summer colds. It’s like the whole world is so damned bright and you just want to crawl under the covers.

Book Recommendations: Summer Edition!

Book Recommendations Tag

This tag was originally created over on Youtube by Zarriah Rose & I have actually managed to do some seasonal recommendations for Winter and Spring. There’s a couple of good days left of summer (actually more but I’m of the once past Labor Day and back in school it’s officially over.)

Below are some fun recommendations for books I read this summer! But are good any old time of year.

May Wrap-Up: A Little of Everything…

may wrap-up

May has come and gone. It was mostly a good month. I seemed completely unable to keep my mind on anything longer than it takes to read a book (and I started probably a dozen that I put aside for later.)

My nephew visited for the Memorial Day weekend and I got to buy him books! Which was nice because usually he’s all about the toys 🙂

Work- which is usually slow this time of year very much hasn’t been. I don’t know if that’s good or bad yet. Also we’re already hitting triple digits here and I’m trying to find new and exciting ways to exercise without going outside or going to join a gym. But on to the important things…

Spring Favs and Recommendations

deer in annihilation

This is a bit of a Spring Favorites/Spring recommendations tag. I did a Winter one here and hoped to do it seasonally. So yeah for keeping up. I know technically there’s a bit of time left for Spring but honestly once we hit Memorial Day it’s summer (and I’m already looking forward to Fall.)

I’m combining books, film and television I’ve seen recently. The tag is originally by Zarriah Rose over on Youtube.

Lost in Space

Lost in Space (Netflix 2018)

Grade: B

It’s extremely rare for me these days to finish a series at all not to mention in a couple of weeks. Lost in Space tells the story of the Robinson family crash landed on an alien planet and trying to survive along with a questionable Doctor Smith and a friendly (sort of) robot. I should say I’ve never seen the original show though I vaguely remember seeing the film remake a couple of years back.

I went into this with reasonable expectations and wound up quite enjoying it.
