Generally speaking I think you know someones a keeper when they jump into the ocean and fight a giant prehistoric thought to be extinct shark monster to save you. Which did kind of make me laugh in the movie because dude you just meet this chick!

A More Realistic Lara

I should caveat this review by saying while I’ve seen the original movie I’ve never played  any of the Lara Croft games. I also do not care about the way she looks or the size of absolutely anything in this movie 🙂

That being said it was quiet a nice surprise and definitely one of the better “based on a video game” movies I’ve seen in a while. Or possibly ever.

I keep wanting to call this movie 12 Down, which I know is not a good thing in military terms. As the pic says this is the declassified true story of the horse soldiers. A unit inserted into Northern Afghanistan and linked up with General Dostum to help them take on the Taliban and kick them out of a couple of strongholds.

Charlize Theron is taking this action heroine stuff super seriously. She plays an MI6 agent sent to Berlin right before the Wall comes down in order to find a missing dossier full of super secret confidential information that will expose all the spies in the field and put their lives in danger.

I feel like that was a James Bond thing once. Why does this stuff keep getting written down in one place?
