The Stand, The Multiverse & a Ramble

The Stand

The Stand

By: Stephen King

I finally finished my reread of The Stand this weekend and overall I’m glad I did. I’d still give it 5 stars for its sheer scope (even if it could still use some editing) and also because I’m older now I felt like I understood it on a different level and enjoyed picking up on some of the ways the stand has influenced modern works.

But seriously the most fascinating thing I learned concerned Marvel!

The Bells Marks My First Real Fear for the Books

sad dany in game of thrones

So The Bells happened.

I’m going to talk about the last episode of Game of Thrones which did in some fairly major characters (in more ways than one) and why I’m worried about the books for the first time and not just that Martin probably won’t finish them.

Disclaimer one: If you don’t want to hear anything at all criticizing the show fair to you. Don’t read.

Obviously SPOILERS and swearing! Definite swearing in this one.

Thrones Theories: Predictions for the Final Season!

jon at the heart tree

One of the most fun things about the world of Westeros is the theorizing. And with the show coming to an end I thought I’d look at some of the most popular theories- where they fall in the show and what the show may say about their fates in the books.

This is all in good fun but I know people are particularly passionate about both the show and the books. So I will say my heart as always is with the book world. I still believe we will get Winds of Winter one day. So don’t burst that bubble please! 🙂

A Pizza Made of Books

Slice Harvester

Slice Harvester: A Memoir in Pizza

By: Colin Atrophy Hagendorf

So I finally read Slice Harvester for Non-Fic November. It’s been on my TBR since it came out so I was pretty proud of myself.

Though in all honest I have mixed feelings on the book. Only the pizza in New York stuff interests me- and it was impressive the way he could write about pizza. If you are also interested in the punk scene go for it. Otherwise I thought I’d build my perfect pizza via books.
