I Will Always Ship It!

lady and the tramp

Valentine’s Day is coming and though I’m not the most romantic of people I can occasionally ship with the best of them ๐Ÿ™‚ So I thought I’d share the ones that have stayed with me through the years that I’ve never really stopped shipping that have always held a place in my heart.

I’m leaving out any ships along the lines of “Sookie and anyone but Bill,” from True Blood and obviously the ones I’ve let go of (Carol and Daryl from the Walking Dead), together from the beginning (Zoe/Wash from Firefly) or like Harley and Ivy where I could take them either way. Obviously I’d recommend all the assorted books, shows and films* and some spoilers below!

A New Doctor Who, Good Omens & Aquaman

jodie whittaker as doctor who

After watching Doctor Who since 9 (Christopher Eccleston) and giving up sometime around the birth of Clara- who annoyed the hell out of me- it was so much fun to check out the new series and really enjoy it this Sunday!

RIP It or SHIP It: TV Character Edition

rip it or ship it tv edition

This tag was created by Emmmasbooksย on Youtube. It was originally for books but I pretty much did the same thing writing out some of my favorite television characters and pulling them from a mug and let me tell you… I’m a pretty good matchmaker.

Or perhaps I should have picked some characters that I don’t like.

Farewell February: T’Challa, Endless Books & Nostalgia Watching

february wrap-up

So February went pretty quick, huh? Overall it was a good month. I was able to visit friends and family and I read… a lot again. Black Panther came out and broke a ton of records. Fergie’s whole National Anthem thing was worth a laugh on-line. I think the Super Bowl happened. I don’t really pay attention. ๐Ÿ™‚

Time Travel with Invictus & Paradox Bound

Invictus

Invictus

Author: Ryan Graudin

Grade: C

Invictus was one of the big reads I was waiting for this year and in the end I felt like it was just okay. I’m a sucker for time-travel and this book about time-traveling bandits lead by a kid who was literally born outside of time was described as Firefly meets Doctor Who so I really, really expected a lot.

Owlcrate Box: Sci-Fi Love

February Owlcrate Box: Sci-Fi Love

FullSizeRender

Owlcrate is a monthly book subscription box that I fell in love with last fall and its probably my favorite box (and trust me I actually have fallen into one too many of those subscription boxes). This months theme was Sci-Fi Love and I was totally excited…

Products included:

The really cute info card!

A Tardis Brooch by Vector Engraving.ย I’m actually happy this isn’t earrings or a necklace. I can use this anywhere and I don’t wear jewelry that much. Plus Doctor Who is kind of a sentimental thing to me.

The pink bag is inspired by The Lunar Chronicles series and designed by Owlcrate so it’s exclusive! It’s quite nice too. It will be good to have for some long weekends coming up…

The Time Machine by H.G. Wells! (Edition by Rock Paper Books!)

Sorry but there’s nothing better than an extra book in a book subscription box especially when you want to get back into the classics.

And now for the book:

The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry

(Signed book plate included!)

I was completely convinced we were getting another book but still I’m pretty happy with this one. The cover is lovely, the story looks interesting and the letter from the author was a good sign of things to come concerning writing!

All in all still happy with this subscription box although the month was a little bit dull. Bonus points of course if I wind up enjoying the book!
