Jane Austen, Daisy Jones & Goodreads

The person in the middle of this cover is blue. Not like her clothes or metaphorically speaking blue because Knightley doesn’t love her but blue and it took me like a week of picking it up and reading before I finally thought, “Hey that person is blue!”

But this ramble isn’t so much about blueness as the big important questions in a readers life like… If Jane Austen was alive today what would she read?

Book Predictions for the 2020’s

Screen Shot 2019-10-19 at 8.52.30 PM

It’s a whole new decade and I was thinking about what book world and reading would look like this time in 10 years. How will the 20’s shape and change books for us? Or books change the 20’s?

Below are my predictions.

At Least I Have Books: 2018 Wrap-Up

harley baking fail

December seemed to fly by. Along with all things Jason Momoa I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with baking competitions. I’ve watched the adults and now I’m onto the kids baking shows. They’re so cute 🙂

Except there’s this 10 year old on one season that has a baking business. Like kid go outside and play or something stop making me look bad. At least I have my books!

January Recap: I Devoured the Books

january recap

I don’t usually do recaps but I wanted to try this year for a personal project as much as anything. I think somewhat keeping track of what I read and watch and the amount, for me, is a good sign of my mood and what’s going on in my life. It’s one of the reasons I went back on Goodreads and started a Letterboxd account to help.

New Year Beauty

So I have a weird thing about taking stock of my yearly books. Once the New Year gets closer I have to finish everything I’ve been reading. (Save for that one audio book I’ve been working on for two years.) So that it all counts and I can start fresh in the New Year.

I also completely overthink my first book of the New Year and the first movie I watch as it completely sets the stage.

2015 Book Round-Up: Reading Challenge, Story Sprites and Favorites

2015 BOOK ROUND-UP: Reading Challenge, Favorites & Story Sprites Wrap Up

I am one of those people that likes to finish a year as best I can. When 2016 dawns I like to be fresh as possible so here’s one last book related post to keep me sane as the year comes to an end.

 Reading Challenge:

Screen Shot 2015-12-31 at 2.52.31 PM

Well, I came close right? And that was with no rereads at all. But I have to be honest I get way to into these things and I’m going to be cutting this down in 2016. I do want to do a couple of rereads this year and my sick need to meet this challenge personally took some of the fun out of reading.

Favorite Reads of 2015 (in no real order):

All the Rage- Courtney Summers

Ms. Marvel & The Goddess of Thunder

Simon vs. The HomoSapiens Agenda- Becky Albertalli

The Prom-Goer’s Interstellar Excursion- Chris McCoy

And my top three which are just screaming, “Hey! Make a movie out of us!”

Vengeance Road- Erin Bowman

Naked- Eliza Redgold

Circling the Sun- Paula McLain

 Story Sprites:

Last but not least I participated in the Story Sprites game from Great Imaginations:

After an excellent start in October I only wound up finishing two paths so that certainly could have gone better! But it was fun and while I didn’t get everything read I certainly have some good ideas for future reading that are already added to my endless TBR!

So that’s basically it book wise for 2015!

I hope everyone has a HAPPY NEW YEAR’S! Bring on 2016!!!
