The City We Became
By: N.K. Jemisin
New York is born in the form of 5 avatars to protect it and an other worldly villain appears in order to try and stop it…
And I try to sort out some mixed feelings in order to try to write a review about it.

Such a Fun Age
By: Kiley Reid
This book has been on my radar for a while and I finally decided to pick it up and give it a go and I’m very glad I did.
It’s a strong debut with great character work (my fav) and opens things up for some very meaningful discussions. It’s not perfect but it makes me really excited to see what Reid does next.
The Nightingale
Directed By: Jennifer Kent
The Nightingale is about a young Irish convict in 1825 Tasmania. She’s supposed to have been freed but the British soldier she works for is not about to let that happen. After a horrible act of violence Clare chases him and two other soldiers into the wild.
In order to do that she needs a tracker and gets help from Billy, a native whose people are being systematically killed.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Directed By: Martin McDonagh
Grade: A-
I had been wanting to watch this one for a while and it was well worth the wait. Months since her daughter was murdered with no answers Mildred Hayes rents out three billboards calling out the police (especially the Chief). This sets off a firestorm in the small town serving to ratchet up the growing anger and tension.
