Stranger Things: Thoughts & Questions on Season 3 (Spoilers!)

stranger things season three

So I watched the 3rd season of Stranger Things in record amount of time (for me.) I think 3 goes down as my favorite season. I had some issues with it but for the most part I can say I love these characters, love spending time with them and am already excited for season 4.

My standouts and a very important Hopper question below as well as…

Spoilers!

Steve, Monsters and 80’s Flashbacks: Stranger Things Final Trailer

Eleven faces Stranger Things 3

Stranger Things dropped its final trailer for season 3 and I am ready for the show and speculation!

Also I was only a kid in the 80’s but the fashion, the fashion! Mainly not fashions finest decade but I miss jelly sandals. I mean I have no doubt I could find them again but it wouldn’t be as fun. Anyway this seasons probably going to give me some strong flashbacks.

Unpopular Opinions: Film and TV Edition

Unpopular Opinions

The Unpopular Opinions Tag is technically a book tag though I’m doing a Film and Television Edition because I think I have a lot more unpopular opinions about them. Either way this tag was originally created by The Book Archer.

These are my opinions of course. No offense intended.

Stranger Things Season 2: Spoilers!

Stranger Things 2

Stranger Things Season 2

Well, season 2 is done. I tried to stretch it out as long as I could as though somehow season 3 would be ready (I just can’t really binge anything). Overall I enjoyed another visit with my favorite kids, their Sheriff and the idyllic small-town hooked up to a seemingly massive inter dimensional portal.

Spoilers below.

Thoughts on Comic-Con Trailers

Stranger Things 2

Stranger Things Season 2 may very well be my favorite trailer out of comic-con. I love those kids. The use of Thriller was just awesome. I’m in love with the Halloween atmosphere. I mean I was super-psyched after the Super Bowl Tease. I just can’t decide whether I’m going to binge this one or try to spread it out and savor it when it finally drops.

Halloween in Hawkins
I am so ready for Fall.

My number two would have to be:

2016 Favorites

I wanted to do a wrap up of my favorite books, movies, and television in 2016 but this week has been a rough one. So I decided to keep it super simple.

TELEVISION

Screen Shot 2016-08-29 at 10.49.25 AM

I was completely hooked on this one after the ending of the third episode. This may actually be the fastest I’ve ever watched a series, even for Netflix.

I also enjoyed Daredevil Season 2 this year (but mainly for the Punisher and Jon Bernthal) and I am quite obsessed with Westworld.

I think what edged out Westworld was being on-line too much and hearing some of the theories and seeing too much stuff whereas I went into Stranger Things completely blind and managed to stay that way.

*I really need to try that more because I’ve definitely found I enjoy things unspoiled.

MOVIES

My favorite movie this year was easy to pick:

It was definitely The Nice Guys. I ship Jackson and Holland. I love Holly. And it’s really weird for me to rewatch movies, even ones that I enjoyed, right away but I swear I’ve rewatched this one four or five times already and it still makes me laugh. I really wish this had done better because I would have loved a sequel.

Other favorites include Rogue One, Deadpool and The Shallows.

BOOKS

Oh, man when I thought about my favorites for books, television and movies I went for the ones that have stayed with me throughout the year. The ones I could pull right from the top of my head. Ones that I haven’t really been able to nitpick more as the year went on and there…

Weren’t very many of those in terms of books.

22299763

Crooked Kingdom was one of my most awaited books this year and it didn’t disappoint. I hate the fact that it’s the end of this series but I thought it ended very well (except for the parts that made me cry). These days when I get through series, even if I enjoy them, I have this feeling of, “I’m glad it’s over. Now I can move on.”

With Crooked Kingdom (and Six of Crows) I felt like I would easily, happily continue to follow these memorable characters. Which is how all great stories should end right? Always leave them wanting more, as they say. It probably helped that I had only read Six of Crows at the beginning of the year so I really didn’t have to wait that long for the end.

Runner-up to Trick

26594092

I don’t think this was actually published this year but I read it in 2016 so I’m included it. I stumbled upon it almost accidentally but really enjoyed this love story between a court fool and a Princess in that it also dealt with things such as disabilities, discrimination, mental health and despite being a fantastic setting actually felt very real in it’s story and consequences.

I would love to see Trick and The Six of Crows series come to the screen!

Well, I am fairly ready to say farewell to 2016! Hopefully 2017 will be a good one for all!

Stranger Things

Starring: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown…

Grade: A+

For once the hype didn’t let me down. I must say I hadn’t even heard of this until a week and a half ago when some of the people I follow started talking about it. I heard “like E.T. and Super 8,” and I knew I had to watch it. I also did something I rarely get to do anymore and I was completely spoiler free.

The show is set in 1983 and centers around the disappearance of Dungeons and Dragons enthusiast Will Byers and the appearance in the woods of a strange girl called Eleven. The show is only eight episodes and it just sucked me in.
