You are Lost: A January Sum-Up

emily and stephanie in a simple favor

After years of being generally perfect early in December WordPress started giving me trouble mainly with leaving Likes but occasionally with comments. It’s been really all over the place and I haven’t had a great deal of time to get a handle on that. But then the other night I was dreaming and I was looking at all the like icons on someones blog…

And then off to the side all by itself, mine. Under the heading You are Lost.

Even my dreams are fucking with me this month.

Recommendations for Avoiding the Big Game…

football recs

So I thought I’d do some recommendations for those of us who aren’t watching the Super Bowl but who are stuck where everyone else is- or just recommendations period for a Winter Sunday. Then it sort of turned into a Super Bowl themed tag and includes books, movies, shows.

The whole nine years… which is a football thing right? Or golf? I don’t remember.

Who’s Getting the Iron Throne…

jon and drogo

I admit I have two modes when it comes to Game of Thrones: complaining about it and endless speculating/theorizing. So it’s been a stressful month I thought I’d have a little fun with a Who’s Gonna Get the Throne list and my percentage chances for each of the big ones.

Obviously spoilers for the show and the books up to this point and a lot of speculation about both. Disclaimer these are just my opinions and thoughts on some of the theories so if I seem to be mocking one you truly believe in I don’t mean to be but like I said I just want to have some fun ūüôā

Zodiac Signs Recommendations: Capricorn

zodiac sign book recommendations

I’ve been getting into star charts and astrology, tarot cards and the like the past couple of months. What you believe in or want to take from that sort of thing is personal. I enjoy it and in some ways it helps me concentrate.

So I thought I would look at the different signs, as the year goes, and do book recommendations based on the traits of the sign. Capricorn runs from December 22-Jan 19th so I’m a little late but not to bad!

Derry Girls is an Instant Favorite

derry girls

Derry Girls

Created and Written by: Lisa McGee

So I went into Derry Girls on Netflix knowing nothing about it save Netflix thought I’d like it based on previous choices and Twitter thought subtitles might be necessary. I wound up flying through all six episodes in no time! Its one of the funniest most entertaining shows I’ve seen in a while.

And you can totally count me in the obnoxious, “Don’t make me wait all year for season two Netflix!” club.

Wrapping Up Holiday Reading & Watching!

the spellman mortuary

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I thought I’d combine my December Blind Spot with my holiday reading and wrap it all up at once. I didn’t finish my Christmas¬†reading list.¬†But I still had some fun with it. And years ago I once promised myself I would never watch A Christmas story mainly because TBS was running it constantly at Christmas but hey, I enjoyed it anyway.

Who’s Been Naughty? Who’s Been Nice?

whose been naughty whose been nice

So I tried to narrow down the book, film and television characters who would make both Santa’s lists this year. I was going to do more than the year but that would have taken me forever! Let’s do Naughty first cause that’s always more fun…

Murderbots, Princesses & Aquaman is Coming! November Wrap-Up

robolights house

November has come and gone and it was a pretty nice month. We had our annual Thanksgiving visit to Robolights house in Palm Springs where I- who endless complains about the hot weather and would move anywhere else- complained endlessly how cold I was.

December is here and the Aquaman press is already in full swing. Plus Venom will be streaming on the 11th. So it will be a very beautiful month entertainment wise.

Daredevil vs. Kingpin

daredevil season three

 Daredevil Season3

Grade: A

Daredevil Season Three will likely go down as the quickest I’ve ever binge watched anything. Four days. I couldn’t stop. It was, for me, the very definition of addictive.
