They Cloned Tyrone

Slick and Fontaine in They Cloned Tyrone

Ah that mix of lacking motivation for writing (or really thinking) but wanting to talk about a really good film…

Basically I’m saying They Cloned Tyrone is really good and you should watch it! Even if I manage not to ramble about this one.

Also despite feeling like the title kind of gives things away they actually have some good twists in here and I’m definitely not going to ramble about them.

They Cloned Tyrone is about Fontaine, Yo-Yo and Slick who stumble into a conspiracy right out of a science-fiction movie only it’s happening in their backyard. The story is fun. There’s some great one-liners (mainly from Foxx and Parris) and it does pack some emotions and chills.

If Secret Invasion had half the vibes this one manages it would have helped.

But it’s really the three leads that make the film. They have great chemistry and bounce off one another with ease. Honestly I’d watch it for them alone. I would have said, though they are all great, Teyonah Parris steals the film… by the end though I think it was all equal footing.

Though someone in the film refers to her as Foxy Brown and I think if they ever wanted to update that one she’s perfect!

Films like this (and Nimona from earlier this month) are the reason Netflix would be the streaming service I get rid of last.

Also just a quick aside as the movie was finishing I could not understand the title- I thought I had missed something. It was driving me up the wall. But they do explain it so have patience.

Recommend: Yes.

  1. This movie was really well-done, a mix of funny lines and wild situations. Sometimes, movies can take themselves way too seriously. But this one did a great job of adding humor to the mix.
